Diablo 2: Resurrected Announced for Consoles
The second installment of the series released back in 2000. Since then, only one additional installment had been released. With a battle chest becoming available shortly after. But with remaster after remaster happening, Blizzard is looking to cash in on the series once again. This ARPG is a revamped version of the game. And this new version of Diablo 2 will be exclusive to Xbox gamers in beta form. The versions for PS4, PS5, will release one day before the Xbox release. Nintendo Switch users will be able to play the same day as Xbox users.
With a remaster from the ground up, this new version of the game should draw new fans. If you’re looking to play on release, Blizzard is giving something special to anyone who pre-ordered Diablo 2: Resurrected. For those who managed to pre-order in time, developers are giving early access to the open beta in early August. So jump in as soon as possible when the game becomes available. To participate in the ‘early’ open beta period, Xbox Live Gold will be required for access. During the latter portion of the beta, all of the Xbox community will be granted access. The game will officially release on September 23, 2021.
Here are some features to also look forward to:
- Choose from five various classes (Amazon, Barbarian, Paladin, Sorceress, and Druid)
- 30 skills available to each character class in Diablo 2: Resurrected
- Revamped ladder seasons to compete worldwide
- Cross-progression (a planned feature) to carry your loot and skills over from PC
