Diablo 4 just got a new update, and the patch notes from Blizzard for hotfix 13 for version 1.0.2 reverts some of the changes made by the previous update. A week after the last minor update for Diablo 4, hotfix 12 came out only a few hours before the latest one, and it made some unintentional gameplay changes to the Barbarian Class that Blizzard wanted to rectify quickly.
Hotfix 12 included stability and performance improvements that affected the Hammer of the Ancients. The changes were made just to improve some performance under the hood and did not mean to affect gameplay. But an unintentional consequence of the change was that the damage of the Hammer of the Ancients was reduced.
