While browsing the rewards for the Festive Star Path in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players might have noticed new outfits for the Villagers: Merlin and Mickey Mouse. These outfits are a part of a new mechanic known as Dream Styles, which enables players to alter the appearance of the Disney characters in the Village. Of course, this feature is currently not available for every resident of the Valley, but there are several NPCs whose outfits can be changed via the Character card list in the Collection menu. Understanding how this procedure works can help players add some stylish flare to their neighbors’ looks within Dreamlight Valley.
Changing Villager Outfits with Dream Styles in Dreamlight Valley
To change a Villager’s outfit in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players must enter the pause menu by pressing the corresponding button or key on their platform. Next, they need to go to Collection and then to Characters. Within the Characters list, players must look for NPCs with a wardrobe symbol above their card. This icon indicates that Dream Styles is available.

Based on gameplay footage by YouTuber Quick Tips, Disney Dreamlight Valley players can access an NPC’s Dream Styles by choosing their character in the Collection’s Character menu. This action will produce a small window revealing the default and alternate appearance of the character. After deciding on an outfit for the Villager in Disney Dreamlight Valley, fans must press “Select” to finish the procedure and give the NPC a new look. If players would like to revert the Villager to their default appearance, then the same steps apply.
It should be noted that some characters can have different appearances that are not related to outfits. For instance, Ariel has her human form and mermaid form that players can now choose in the Dream Styles window. Conversely, unique apparel or event-exclusive outfits like Merry Mickey and Festive Merlin must be unlocked by fulfilling specific prerequisites. In Mickey and Merlin’s case, players will need to complete Duties to earn Festive Star Path tokens to unlock and change their Villager outfits in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
