In a brand new announcement, Disney Dreamlight Valley has announced that they’re adding one of the most sought-after features in gaming: name-changing. The customization options in the game have taken off recently, and players already have the option to change almost anything about their avatar – except for the name they chose when beginning the game. However, update 9 – which doesn’t have a release date but is coming soon – will change that, allowing Disney Dreamlight Valley players to edit the name of their avatar seemingly every day.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Updates Promise Name Changing, New Characters
In a social media announcement, Disney Dreamlight Valley developer Gameloft has given fans some crumbs regarding what to expect in the upcoming update 9. According to the developer, the new name-changing feature will allow players to pick a new name at any point, and it doesn’t seem like a limited-use thing, either. The new feature is exciting, and it fits with the precedent Disney Dreamlight Valley has already set by allowing players to change anything about their avatar – from body shape to hairstyle and clothing – at any time, for free, simply by accessing the game’s wardrobe menu.
Unfortunately, we don’t know how the name-change feature will work in update 9. However, we know that it will be added to the game alongside Mike Wazowski, everyone’s favorite one-eyed monster who’s come to live in Dreamlight Valley with update 9. Further hints about seeing Daisy Duck in Update 10, Mulan in Update 11, and Tiana in Update 12 have been dropped, but we’re still a few months away from that.
Disney Dreamlight Valley’s previously-announced roadmap promised players Mike Wazowski in “late winter”, so we should see update 9 in just a few weeks, if that. Players waiting for a new update for the A Rift in Time expansion will have to wait a little longer, as Gameloft has teased a “very lucky villager” coming to Eternity Isle with update 10 this spring.
