Stepping away from the small town of A Quiet Place, A Quiet Place: Day One brings the scares to New York City. A prequel, Day One was written and directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig) and follows new characters in the franchise. It stars Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther), Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), Alex Wolff (Hereditary), and returning cast member Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy). As it is a horror prequel you might be wondering if there’s anything at the end of the movie connecting it to the original. So, let’s see if A Quiet Place: Day One has a post-credits scene.
Is There a Post-Credits Scene in A Quiet Place: Day One?
If you need to run to the bathroom because the film was too scary for you, feel free to do so because A Quiet Place: Day One does not have a post-credits scene. There’s nothing after the credits other than a bunch of names, which you of course can stay and watch if you’d like to honor the people who worked on the movie. Otherwise, feel free to let your ushers clean up in peace and leave the theater as soon as the credits begin.
As a prequel that connects to one of the previous movies, it probably should have had a post-credits scene. If you stick around until the end of the credits the music does ramp up as if it’s leading to something. It would have been a slam dunk to connect Day One to the timeline in A Quiet Place: Part II, and it’s a shame that it doesn’t. There aren’t any bloopers either but that would have been an unexpected choice for how serious this horror movie is.
It’s currently unknown where the universe of A Quiet Place will go next, but there is another entry in the works. John Krasinski (IF) is reportedly working on a fourth installment in the franchise, entitled A Quiet Place Part III, which is set to release in 2025. However, it’s currently unknown if any of the characters from Day One will be reprising their roles. We know Hounsou’s character dies at the end of Part II, as for the others we’ll have to wait and see.
You can watch A Quiet Place: Day One in theaters from June 28, 2024.
