One of the first big action movies of 2024 has arrived with the release of Argylle. An espionage thriller that doesn’t take itself too seriously, Argylle was directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman: The Secret Service). It stars Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World) as Elly, a writer of a series of spy novels. She meets Aidan – Sam Rockwell (Iron Man 2) – who thrusts her into the spy world she had been writing about. With many twists and turns, you might be wondering if there’s anything extra once the credits begin to roll. So, let’s take a look at Argylle and whether it has a post-credits scene.
Does Argylle Contain a Post-Credits Scene?
Make sure to stay in your seat once the credits begin to roll, as Argylle does have a post-credits scene, one that’s as bonkers as all of the other twists in the movie. But, you won’t need to wait for long, as Argylle‘s post-credits scene follows the opening credits. You’ll be waiting less than a minute for the extra scene and you’ll want to make sure you don’t miss it. After no other references, Argylle’s post-credits scene ties the film into another cinematic universe while setting up a sequel.
If you left the theater a little confused about what occurred during the credits, don’t worry, we’ll help you go through it. Be warned, the following will spoil Argylle‘s post-credits scene, but not any of the rest of the movie. The post-credits begins with an exterior shot of a pub called The King’s Man. This is an overt reference to the Kingsman series of films, perhaps tying Argylle into the same universe. The bartender inside the pub is played by British actor Ben Daniels (House of Cards).
He interacts with a younger man who goes by the name Argylle, leading us to believe he is the younger version of Cavill’s character. It then cuts to text that reads Argylle Book One. We can infer that another Argylle movie is being worked on, one that might directly adapt the book written by Elly Conway that is set to release this month. Or it might even be a sequel. We’ll have to see how Argylle performs at the box office before we have any news of a future for this franchise. You can catch Argylle in theaters from February 2, 2024.
