Hugh Jackman (X-Men) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) are back as Weapon X and The Merc with a Mouth in Deadpool & Wolverine. Directed by Shawn Levy (Free Guy), the film bridges the gap between the Fox X-Men franchise and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The third Deadpool movie sees Deadpool and Wolverine team up to try and stop a world-ending threat, with a story full of fun cameos and action-packed set pieces. As it is an MCU film, you’re probably wondering if there’s anything after the credits, so let’s look at whether or not Deadpool & Wolverine has a post-credits scene.
Is There a Post-Credits Scene in Deadpool & Wolverine?
If you want to see everything the movie has to offer stay in your seat, because Deadpool & Wolverine does have a post-credits scene. There’s one montage that begins right when the main credits do, and it continues for a while. Then, right after the credits come to a close there is an end-credits scene that continues a joke from earlier in the film. There are no scenes that set up another film or feature any new cameos. However, the film itself doesn’t need more cameos, as it is already filled with them.
If you sit through the credits, keep an eye out for a joke in the special thanks section. While we won’t spoil it here, the montage during the credits is one of the best uses of a post-credits scene in recent memory. As for what Deadpool might get up to next, well the answer to that is teased in the movie. We might not know exactly how he’ll end up, but there’s a scene in the film that should give you a good idea. With how well it’s projected to do at the box office, it’s hard to believe that we won’t see Deadpool again.
On a more somber note, Deadpool & Wolverine also contains a dedication. The film is dedicated to Raymond Chan who was a supervising art director for many MCU movies, including Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Doctor Strange, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Chan passed away in April at the age of 56. He was also the production designer for Deadpool & Wolverine, which like those other MCU movies have visually interesting looks.
You can watch Deadpool & Wolverine when it crashes into theaters on July 26, 2024.
