Monster Hunter: World isn’t the only action RPG to provide players with a deep end-game. By the time you approach the end of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, you’ll have pushed your characters t0 incredible heights of power, but you’re not done. The Over Mastery mechanic allows you to squeeze even more value from your party members, but only once they’ve reached Level 80. You won’t reliably get good results from this system until you’re Level 100, however, so even at 80 there’s a long way to grind. Over Mastery can be a confusing mechanic, but this guide will help you make the most of it in Granblue Fantasy: Relink.

Over Mastery Mechanic

Embracing the Over Mastery mechanic is one of the most important end-game tasks for players to tackle. After becoming available at Level 80, it then improves at Level 90 and once more at Level 100. Although you may feel tempted to invest heavily into Over Mastery ASAP, consider waiting until you unlock Over Mastery Level 3 at Level 100. Over Mastery allows you to improve your offensive and defensive Masteries with various bonuses, but at lower levels of Over Mastery, you’ll experience worse RNG when rolling. Level 1 Over Mastery costs 700 MP, but you’ll need to invest a hefty 2000 MP at Level 3. That makes this a costly process.

In general, damage-boosting bonuses tend to be more useful than Stun Power, Health, and Healing. Still, feel free to experiment with what suits your party the best. The difference between a 3-star Attack bonus (+200) rolled at Over Mastery Level 1 and a 10-star Attack bonus (+1,000) is significant, which is what makes higher levels of Over Mastery so desirable.

Get Perfect Over Mastery Rolls in Granblue Fantasy: Relink

You aren’t just stuck with the Over Mastery bonuses you roll in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Unlike some bonuses, they can be rerolled. Even so, it’s possible to reroll repeatedly without ever getting the particular bonuses you’re looking for. There is a solution, but it’s a form of save scumming, so it’s not for everyone. That said, here are the steps you’ll want to follow to get perfect Over Mastery rolls in Granblue Fantasy: Relink:

  • Save your game
  • Roll your Over Mastery bonuses
  • If you’re unhappy with the bonuses you rolled, select “Return to Title Screen” from the system menu
  • Complete any quest to reset the Over Mastery system’s RNG
  • Save the game again
  • Reroll your Over Mastery bonuses
  • Repeat as necessary until you get the bonuses you want

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
