Caitlyn Jenner has irked Charlamagne Tha God with open support for Donald Trump, earning her massive backlash. The reality star and former Olympian has proven herself a staunch Trump supporter over the election period, openly voicing her support for the Republican presidential candidate and his alliances. While this has earned the trans woman, named Bruce Jenner at birth, massive backlash from those who deem her political stance a betrayal of the transgender community, some fans have defended her right to have a preferred candidate regardless of her “association” to a certain group.
The Breakfast Club host Charlamagne Tha God rallied behind the former group, making Caitlyn the object of his weekly roasting segment. Taking to his talk show this week, Charlamagne slammed Caitlyn Jenner’s support of Donald Trump. In a defiant move seemingly showing the trans woman what it would feel like to have her “existence erased” during Trump’s administration, the show host kept misgendering Caitlyn.
Caitlyn Jenner Roasted Over Donald Trump Support
He fired off by stating how the elections made him realize that most people vote for their interests irrespective of their identity. Charlamagne cited Caitlyn Jenner’s Donald Trump support and a swarm of Latinos who also voted for the president-elect. The host fired,
“I just find it fascinating. And that is also how I feel about Caitlyn because Caitlyn is trans, but she is a huge Donald Trump supporter.”
Charlamagne proceeded to rip into Caitlyn Jenner’s recent social media post lauding Donald Trump and Elon Musk for “singlehandedly saving Western civilization.” He suggested that the reality star was simply sucking up to the Tesla CEO for favors. Intentionally identifying Caitlyn as “he” instead of “she,” the show host ranted,
“Sounds to me like Caitlin wants his next gender reassignment surgery sponsored by SpaceX.nHe wants his testicles replaced for Teslas. He wants to have the Tesla of vaginas, just put it on autopilot, and it plays with itself.”
Next, Charlamagne addressed another of Caitlyn’s posts where she publicly denounced her Glamour Magazine Woman of the Year Award, bestowed upon her in October 2015, just months after first identifying as a trans woman. According to her, her discussions with many “families, men and women” made her realize the distraught nature of her acceptance of the award.
Charlamagne Calls Transgender Caitlyn Jenner a Rich White Male
Charlamagne claimed the 75-year-old came to that realization a little too late, having enjoyed the privileges that come with being trans in the last few years. He proceeded to call out the former Olympian for wielding privileges that made her uncaring of the interest of others, while sucking up to Donald Trump and Elon Musk, dubbing her “a rich white male.”
“Caitlyn Jenner, as a transgender, you just look like a devil damn fool glazing Trump and Elon the way you are after hearing stuff like that. Now, I don’t have a problem choosing issues over identity, but not if one of the issues is somebody trying to erase the existence of my identity altogether.”
The radio personality went on to explain that his misgendering of Caitlyn was intentional because he deemed her nothing more than a “rich white male” with privileges. For him, that identity “trumps” everything else. Charlamagne’s analysis of Caitlyn’s political stance garnered mixed reactions from his fans, with most dubbing it “biased.” According to them, the radio host based his argument on one side of the reality, completely ignoring that Donald Trump’s “anti-trans” regulations are mostly geared toward minors. Hence, they did not exactly threaten to “erase the existence” of the trans community as Charlamagne claimed.
Others pointed out that his political grievances did not justify misgendering a trans woman. Some netizens backed Charlamagne’s attack on Caitlyn Jenner, pointing out that it simply gave the TV personality a glimpse of what things would be like for her and other trans people under Donald Trump’s reign in terms of identity, with some dubbing it “The end of woke era.”
