In case you missed it, yesterday was a big day for Diablo 4, as it unveiled several surprises for all players who might want to consider returning to Sanctuary as soon as possible. For starters, Diablo 4 has finally revealed some Warlock gameplay, and it looks just as great as we imagined, but beyond that, it has also announced a crossover with the top demon-slaying franchise of all time: DOOM. And if that wasn’t enough, Season of Slaughter is upon us, so yes, this is an excellent time to be a Diablo 4 fan.
Diablo 4 Finally Reveals More Warlock Gameplay
Yesterday, we got to see a bigger glimpse at the new class for Diablo 4, the Warlock. While we already knew this class was coming thanks to the anniversary stream, we got to see it in action, and it is beyond anything we expected.
This anti-hero class is all about forcing demons to fight for you, and Diablo 4 is doing an excellent job at showcasing this with some of the class’s abilities. For instance, Warlocks will use Wrath as the primary spellcasting resource and Dominance to summon demons to fight for them, and all the skills we got to see are as destructive as they are flashy. Of course, we’ll have to actually play it to see just how well it performs against the infernal hordes, but so far, it seems the golden days of Diablo 4 are back, because it’s been one great reveal after another, and we can’t wait for April 28th, which is when we’ll be able to control a few demons to do our bidding.
The DOOM Slayer Arrives With Season of Slaughter
Another big news was the announcement of Season of Slaughter, which is all about ripping and tearing through enemies. First, players will be able to become The Butcher for the first time, and that means using some of the skills you’ve been dodging in the past. On top of that, there are many things coming to this season, such as a new questline, the Ceremony of Hatred, allowing you to become the aforementioned demon, but most importantly, a new Reliquary full of DOOM items.
That’s right, DOOM: The Dark Ages will land on Diablo 4 as part of a crossover, and players will be able to earn different items from that game in the Reliquary. Some of the items include iconic weapons from our favorite Slayer, including the brand-new Shield Saw, which is something that will fit this season like a bloodied glove.
Ultimately, this all looks fantastic for Diablo 4, and it really makes us see just how great the team has been at putting the game back on the right path. The last season, which saw the early access to Paladin, was praised by the community, and by the looks of it, we’re about to experience another ARPG banger.
Remember that the new season launches on March 11, and the expansion, alongside the Warlock, will land on April 28, so start marking your calendars because we’re not that far away from experiencing this hellish content.
