Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Gets New Gameplay Trailer That Shows Saiyan & Namek Saga Characters

There’s a lot more where that came from

The highly anticipated Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero just got a new gameplay trailer that shows a small part of the packed roster of playable characters from two major sagas. In the Budokai Tenkaichi sequel’s trailer, we saw characters from when the Z fighters first faced off against Sayains with the arrival of Vegeta and Nappa, all the way to every single major fight on Namek.

Dragon Ball Z has a very long ongoing story with a plethora of action-packed fights, so even though we’ve seen a lot of characters already, there are bound to be many more as the story progresses. After seeing all the characters from the Saiyan saga to the Namek saga, we saw a lot of gameplay from Freeza and all of his different forms, who is bound to be a playable character.

Not only will we see major characters in the cast, but minor ones as well. Vegeta has a quick fight with the cowardly Cui after reaching Namek, and even Cui will be a playable character.

At the end of the new characters trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, we see a grid of all the fighters that the game will launch with, and it is a whopping 164 characters, far more than any fighting game ever before. Many of the characters have been revealed, but a lot are still hidden, definitely coming in future trailers.

We will also get the option to choose from different forms of each character. The name of each fighter in the trailer had “Z” written beside it, meaning that we will also have the option to choose between the Dragon Ball Super version of that character as well. The grid at the end shows many forms of the same character, and even fused characters as well.

So far, we haven’t seen any Dragon Ball GT characters, and that might be because that series is not considered canon. But the large number of blacked-out slots might just be for the massive number of characters in GT. Finally, the trailer shows the release date of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero to be November 10, 2024. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via Steam.

Those who pre-order the game will get early access to six new fighters, which include three forms of Gogeta, 3 forms of Broly, and one mystery playable fighter yet to be revealed.
