Due to leaks, we already knew that the developers behind Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot were working on its World Tournament DLC, and today, a new trailer was shown. For those who don’t know, this new DLC will adapt one of the most famous arcs of the original anime and manga into the game. We’ll see Goku and other iconic characters battling it out on a martial arts stage from the first show. This is great, as many fans miss the old days when Dragon Ball was about fighting on a smaller scale.

DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT - DLC 5 Ground Battle Trailer

One fantastic thing we saw during the trailer of the World Tournament DLC of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is the ground battle mechanic. Given how Goku and friends return to “normal” fights, the game will prevent flying and encourage players to fight on the ground. Jumping and dodging will require better timing and might be a change of pace from what players are used to. Besides that, you can beat enemies by throwing them off the ring – something that’ll change players’ strategy.

Seeing the developers experimenting with new things for the World Tournament DLC of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is fun for fans. While many think the game has one of the best retellings of the anime and manga, the gameplay part was a bit tedious during the main story. The DLCs, however, have made many changes that make fighting much more enjoyable.

Now, all we have to do is wait for an official release date for the fifth DLC of this game. This new adventure is included in the Second Season Pass of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, so if you have it, all you need to do is wait for it to become available. If not, a purchase is in order.
