Dua Lipa received less-than-favorable feedback as she slipped her figure into an edgy fishnet dress in November 2022. Showing off her curves while Down Under in Australia, the 28-year-old opted for a bit of a pool look as she rocked a bathing suit beneath her mesh dress, one raising eyebrows as users reacted to photos on The Daily Mail.
While some loved Dua’s funky style, others felt that she was showing way too much skin. Alongside getting dubbed “desperate,” Dua found herself with users thinking she was “thirsty” for attention, with popular replies calling the dress itself “cheap.” Dua may get slammed, but her portfolio of fashion gigs more than proves that she’s a style icon.
Dua Lipa Turns Heads With Fishnet Dress Style
Sharing the photos to her Instagram as she marked touching down in Sydney, Dua sizzled in a pale pink, figure-hugging cover-up formed entirely of mesh netting.
Injecting a little sparkle into her dress’ holographic fabrics, the “Training Season” singer flashed her backside as she wore a cheeky pair of barely-there briefs, also drawing the eye to her curves up top. Keeping trendy with neck strings holding her dress up, Dua showed plenty of skin as she struck poses for her mass following, with stitched cartoon detailing on her bust protecting her modesty.
Keeping glam, Dua sported her dark hair down and swept over to one side a little. The British sensation also wore dangly earrings and a full face of makeup as she referenced her swim-centric look while marking being “Down undaaaa.”
Eyebrows Raised Over ‘Cheap’ Look
Quickly shooting to the top of the comments with over 700 upvotes was a user saying: “She’s becoming so trashy and thirsty lately.” Keep scrolling to shop her YSL fragrance!
Meanwhile, over 400 users agreed with a comment reading: “Cheap and tacky. if she was a real artist, she would not have to do these demeaning acts.” The sentiment was echoed by a fan calling Dua’s fashion choice “tacky and cheap.” Twisting the knife in, a further fan replied: “It’s just attention seeking and the outfit isn’t even nice. Just trashy.”
Dua is having the last laugh, though. In 2021, the pop star inked a lucrative endorsement deal with designer YSL, becoming the face of its Libre scent. The fragrance is now a cult one, boasting over 3,800 4.5-star reviews on Sephora.
Dua is also a promo face for designer Versace and has this year upped the Jacquemus mentions on her Instagram after being flown out for the Selena Gomez-adored brand’s Fashion Show.
In the past, Dua has also fronted sportswear giant PUMA.
