The Ducktales series is best known for two things, it’s wacky adventures and it’s themed song, both of which are on prominent display in the upcoming reboots first trailer. While the first taste of the new series wets a lot of nostalgic appetites, it also reveals interesting information.
Just like in the original, Huey, Dewey and Louie are Scrooge McDuck’s grandnephews and are left in his care while their father, Donald Duck, is away. But alongside being an obscenely rich businessman, Scrooge is also an extravagant explorer.

The trailer shows that the adventures that made the original series so beloved will be the focal point of the new Ducktales, and that dear old Donald will also play an important role. Somewhat of a callback to the many exploits, he’s had throughout his career, the quacky old duck is known in the show as “one of the most daring adventurers of all time.”
Anyone who was originally worried about the star-studded cast list taking away from the characters and the shows ambiance should be sated by the trailer as well. Despite having a star-studded cast list in David Tennant (Scrooge), Danny Pudi (Hewey), Ben Schwarz (Dewey), they all play the roles marvelously, distinguishing the characters they play from their already established careers.
Other darling characters will be returning as well including – but not limited to – Flintheart Glomgold, Gyro Gearloose, Duckworth, Gizmoduck, Magica DeSpell, Gladstone Gander, and Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys.
Despite being months away from the show’s debut, Disney has already renewed Ducktales for a second season. Be sure to check back to the site for the release date, as it currently is said to premiere on Disney XD sometime in summer 2017.
