It is official: Jumanji is being remade. New news announced over Instagram confirms that one of the new films key players and likely stars is going to be Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The original film was a touching action adventure film released in 1995 which starred the late Robin Williams as a kid who got trapped inside a fantastical and dangerous magical board game, the titular Jumanji, only to be released decades later as an adult, by a new duo of children who he then helps guide through to the end of the game, almost destroying the local town in the process.
In the Instagram post, Johnson states that:
While some online are speculating that this means that Mr. Johnson will definitely star in the Jumanji remake, as of now there is no official word on the subject and all that is indicated through his Instagram post is that he will be involved in the production, and casting, all of which he seems genuinely enthused about. The new film is set to be released July 27, 2017, and is going to be directed by Jake Kasdan and produced by Matt Tolmach. What do you think?
Are you certain that no matter what Dwayne Johnson says his intentions are that he will certainly lead to the ruination of all your childhood memories of the classic film, Jumanji? Or perhaps, are you certain that “the people’s champ” can do no wrong on the screen just as he can do nothing wrong in the ring and therefore this remake will be better than the original? Have you never seen Jumanji before, and do you have no idea who Dwayne Johnson is? We would certainly be interested to hear about it in the comments section.
