Sony debuted the world premiere trailer for Hitman on stage at E3. The trailer featured pulsing beats, quick cuts of lavish luxury, and a man running through the snow. That man running through the snow is Agent 47. The trailer ends with the agent’s reveal via a brutal assassination.
No gameplay was shown, but Sony announced that Playstation 4 would have an exclusive beta for those that pre-order the game along with six exclusive contracts as well. The game is promised to be the biggest Hitman yet. What that means is still up in the air. It was also mentioned that Hitman would be released digitally first. A release date wasn’t announced, but with the Square Enix conference on its way there’s bound to be more information in the coming days.
It should be a good year for Agent 47 as he has a new movie starring Zachary Quinto coming soon to theaters and apparently a new game as well.
“This is new ground for HITMAN, coming out digital first enables us to do something new, bold and exciting,” said Hannes Seifert, Studio Head at Io-Interactive. “We are building a live, expanding and evolving world of assassination where we continuously develop the game, listening closely to the players as we release new locations, missions and hits as soon as they are ready – where $60 and not a dollar more gets you full access to the experience.”
