Bethesda has just laid out its plans at E3 for the future of Doom and a free demo of the game for those who have yet to play it.
This week only the first level of Doom will be available for download for free across all platforms starting tonight.
Doom will be getting a ton of free updates for the popular Snap Map in the coming months including new construction modules, props, weapons and items along with a hell visual theme. Creators can look forward to new logic options and functionality that will also offer the ability to create unique single player experiences. Like the use of the weapon wheel.
Two new modes will also be added to multiplayer and they are Exodus and Sector. Exodus will be a unique style take on one flag CTF with Sector being a capture and hold mode. Three new free for all modes will also release later this summer and will include classic deathmatch. Bethesda has stressed that all of the new modes and features will be free to all players in Doom.
Bethesda has also outline the first premium DLC for Doom which is titled “Unto the Evil.” This DLC will feature three new maps which are Offering, Cataclysm and Ritual. A brand new demon called “The Harvester” will be added as well in addition to new armor, taunts, abilities and a new weapon.
