Fans have known for a while that a new main Fire Emblem game was on its way to the Switch. Today at E3, Nintendo finally dropped a trailer for it. Fire Emblem: Three Houses tells a unique story with original characters, introducing fans to Edelgard, who can apparently wield both swords and axes.

She also doesn’t seem to have a world of confidence in her teacher… The gameplay of Fire Emblem: Three Houses remains the classic turn-based strategy players know and love from the series, and also includes what appears to be attacks with squads of fighters. The cutscenes are tense and the battles look incredibly dynamic.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses stands among one of several titles hopeful fans anticipated seeing at E3 this year, like Bayonetta and Metroid Prime 4 (neither of which have made an appearance yet). The main focus of this trailer was certainly on the world’s story and the battle mechanics, and it all seems pretty easy to take in. Being Fire Emblem, both the story and the characters are sure to grow and evolve.

Are you looking forward to Fire Emblem: Three Houses when it releases in spring 2019? Let us know what you think in the comments, and stay tuned for more coverage.
