On a recent earnings conference call, EA has confirmed their plans to continue investments into both the future of the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the Mass Effect franchises. The following was said by EA’s director CEO Andrew Wilson during the call confirming this statement:

There is enduring power to the franchisees and IP that we are building. The launch of Mass Effect Legendary Edition, the remaster of the first three Mass Effect games, reignited the passion of fans around the world, driving sales performance well above our expectations. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order coming to the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 was also a moment for new and returning players to jump into that amazing game. We’re continuing to invest in both of these franchises, as well as more of our amazing IP.”

This marks the beginning of a new era for both franchises and it begs the question, what lays in wait for each? In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s case, it is likely we will see a sequel to the first game which was set up heavily at the end to do so. Seeing a plethora of new planets not seen before in the Star Wars games would be an enrapturing addition to the story, but only time will tell what we will see. As for the Mass Effect franchise; the success of the Legendary Edition was shock-wavingly powerful and showcased the true potential of what level of enjoyment game remasters can bring to players and how deeply the community felt about the series as a whole.

The future of the Mass Effect and Star Wars Jedi franchises will no doubt be a bright one with hopes of EA making new games across both avenues.

What does the continuing of investments mean to you? What are you hoping to see in each franchise for the future? Let us know below!
