A thrifter showed up at a Nevada yard sale to score a deal on a phone he wanted. But when he went to pay for the Gumby phone, he was met with an angry elderly woman selling at the stand. According to her, he showed up too early, and she wasn’t about to give him any deals.
TikToker WINS Vintage (@whileimnotsleeping) frequents thrift stores and yard sales for cool finds. He recently arrived at a Nevada yard sale early in the morning, where he found they were already set up for the day. Thinking he could make a purchase, he grabbed a cool vintage Gumby phone that was for sale. When he walked out of the garage with his find, he was approached by an elderly woman living at the house. She immediately and angrily tells him, “It said 9:00 and we’re not ready!”
This TikToker tells the old woman that he was instructed to make his purchase by another woman standing at the house. He apologizes and the woman states that there’s a “lack of communication” at her home. He asks her if she’ll take $5 for the Gumby phone. She turns and asks her husband, “You only wanted $5 for Gumby?” When he replies that he does, she turns back to WINS Vintage and says, “I say $10 for now. If you want to wait until 9, $5.” She only agrees to sell it to him if he comes back at 9, even though he didn’t know that’s when she was opening for the day!
WINS is clearly agitated by the conversation and asks the man of the house if he can pay $5 for the phone. The man agrees to settle for that price, despite what his wife said. He hands him the $5 bill and thanks them for their time, walking away with his Gumby phone in tow.
