The capoeira master Eddy has kicked his way into Tekken 8, and fans are quite happy because of his new design. His older more colorful design has been replaced with a more understated and mature color palette. Eddy will be the first DLC character for Tekken 8 season 1, and the remaining three will be confirmed at a later date.
Eddy has been part of the Tekken series for a very long time, making his debut in the legendary Tekken 3, he has been a mainstay of the franchise. He will be joining the roster sometime in Spring 2024, as confirmed in his trailer which you can watch below.
His new design has his iconic dreads with a cool new outfit for Tekken 8, but for anyone who has been playing the series, his playstyle will instantly seem familiar. Although we didn’t see too much of his moveset, what we did see wasn’t too much of a departure from his previous moves. We also got to see a small snippet of the mocap process used by Bandai Namco to make his animations so fluid and realistic.
Tekken 8 Season 1: Eddy Reveal – 3 More On The Way
Although we don’t know who the other three characters for Tekken 8 season 1 are, we do know that after Eddy’s release in spring 2024, another will follow in autumn, and another around the end of the year.
The Tekken 8 opening movie is jam-packed with the good old Harada-style over-the-top story setup that shows both old characters and newcomers in action. The story will continue to focus on the Mishima bloodline, as explained by the immaculate explainer from none other than Brian Cox himself.
Tekken 8 comes out on January 26 2024 on the PlayStation 5,
