A perfect fit for those looking to make quick work of elite enemies and bosses in Elden Ring, the Faith/Strength builds are known for offering a perfect blend of high damage and unbelievable utility. But which among the many possible builds can be considered the best? Here’s a Faith/Strength build sure to make your journey to the Erdtree a cakewalk.
The Best Faith/Strength Build in Elden Ring
As this Faith/Strength build —which I like to call Never-Ending Flame– will work identically to the Blasphemous Paladin one featured in The Most Fun Elden Ring Builds of 2024 and revolve around buffing the Blasphemous Blade’s Taker’s Flames exclusive skill, we will start by investing in Strength, Faith, Vigor, Mind, and Endurance.
It is also vital that you raise your Dexterity to at least 16 early on, as you will need that to wield the Blasphemous Blade. Make sure to evenly spend your level-up points and keep in mind that no matter how much damage you deal, it won’t matter if you cannot survive hits and stay mobile.
Ideally, you would want to keep the mentioned stats as close as possible to the values showcased below while at around level 150.
Vigor | 40 |
Mind | 30/40 |
Endurance | 30 |
Strength | 40 |
Dexterity | 16 |
Faith | 50 |
You will need to have 22 Strength, 16 Dexterity, and 21 Faith to use Taker’s Flames. After reaching refinement level 10, the Blasphemous Blade will have a C scaling in both Strength and Dexterity, as well as a B scaling in Faith.
Recommended Left-Hand Weapons
For your left hand, use both a Sacred Seal for Incantations and a shield for emergencies. Since your Incantations might not pack enough punch initially, we recommend that you fight by using mostly your right-hand weapon and only use them for support while in the early game. Among the seals in the game, the Erdtree Seal is by far the best.
The Best Early Game Faith/Strength Scaling Weapons in Elden Ring
If you missed the chance to get the Blasphemous Blade or are yet to acquire it, we recommend that you make use of either the Golden Halberd or the Winged Scythe. Both weapons work well with all kinds of Faith/Strength builds and will deal Physical and Holy damage. While in the early game, using any Short or Greatsword paired with the Ash of War: Sacred Blade will work wonders.
You can get the Golden Halberd by defeating the Tree Sentinel posted in Lingrave, more specifically close to The First Step. The Winged Scythe can be acquired by opening a chest in the deepest part of Tombsward Ruins.
Must-Have Incantations
The biggest differential of all Faith/Strength builds lies in how you can make use of a wide array of Incantations to easily adapt to any fight. In this build, that will allow you to either invest in a secondary source of damage or double down in Fire.
Nevertheless, Golden Vow and Blessing of the Erdtree are must-haves for the late game. While Blessing of the Erdtree will allow you to heal over time by a massive amount, Golden Vow will increase the damage you inflict and massively lower that which you will receive. When using the Blasphemous Blade, Flame, Grant Me Strength also becomes essential for its Physical and Fire DMG boost.
Recommended Talismans and a Must-Have Crystal Tear
To get the most out of Taker’s Flames, we recommend that you use the Two Fingers Heirloom, the Carian Filigreed Crest, and the Fire Scorpion Charm for an +5 on Faith, a 25% decrease in FP cost, and a 12% increase in Fire DMG respectively.
To mitigate the increase in Received Physical DMG provided by the Fire Scorpion Charm, you can also use the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman for its 20% decrease in the stat. If you are confident in your ability to avoid damage, using the Great-Jar’s Arsenal will allow you to use Medium-weight armor with ease.
To further empower Taker’s Flames (as well as all fire incantations if you plan on using them), we will be using the Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear in our Flask of Wondrous Physick mixture. The Tear will offer an increase in Fire Damage and will be a must-use in boss fights.
Recommended Armor Sets
As this build gives players the freedom to pick any set they like, there are no determined armor pieces sure to enhance its performance. However, if you are looking to get the best in defense while staying mobile and getting a little bit of extra Faith, I recommend the use of the Haligtree Knight Helm (which will offer you +2 Faith).
