Someone out there is a million dollars richer and the have Elder Scrolls Online to thank for that. ESO recently had a “Million Reasons to play Giveaway” and a winner has finally been contacted. The contest began back in December of last year offering current and newcomers a chance to win one million dollars; all they had to do was play the game at some point before January 10th of this year. The name of the winner has not been divulged to the public and the winner has not come forward and announced his newly acquired wealth (both smart moves), but there are plenty of people claiming the winner in various forums to keep the true winner safe from jealous MMO players.
The Elder Scrolls Online was released back in 2014 with a subscription model that quickly changed the year after but still giving players an opportunity to spend real world money for added aesthetics. In any event, this giveaway was more than enough to encourage players to give Elder Scrolls Online, at least one more chance since you only had to log once within the time of the giveaway to become eligible for the million while at the same time enticing new players with the promise of maybe winning that money.

There will be runner ups contacted as well; they won’t be getting a message saying they won a million dollars but they will receive in-game currency, which I guess is something.
