Power truly belongs to the people as Twitter billionaire owner Elon Musk leaves app users to decide about former president Donald Trump’s account reinstatement. Elon created a poll on Friday asking bird app users to vote, giving them the power to choose the 45th POTUS fate.
Following his poll, the billionaire tech mogul left a reply in the thread saying, “Vox Populi, Vox Dei.” It’s a Latin phrase meaning “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”
In other words, it’s left to God to decide the former president’s fate through the people. Trump’s account reinstatement poll by Elon Musk already has 1.4 million reactions from Twitter users. Typically, the poll will be up for 24 hours; it will end on Saturday evening.

Elon Musk Creates Poll For Twitter Users To Decide on Donald Trump’s Reinstatement
Before Elon Musk asked Twitter users about Trump’s account reinstatement, the former president was banned on Jan 6. The ban was temporal initially; then, it was made permanent following the U.S Capitol attack and his tweets.
He tweeted that he won’t be attending Joe Biden’s Inauguration. Many also claimed that Trump’s tweet technically supported the Capitol building attackers.
The former POTUS stated that the 75 million great American Patriots who voted for him would have a giant voice in the future. Then he said that the attackers/ his supporters would not be disrespected or mistreated in any way.
Twitter’s former management made it clear that the horrific events and tweets violated the app’s rules, resulting in his ban. According to the management:
“Due to the ongoing tensions in the United States, and an uptick in the global conversation in regards to the people who violently stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, these two Tweets must be read in the context of broader events in the country and the ways in which the President’s statements can be mobilized by different audiences, including to incite violence, as well as in the context of the pattern of behavior from this account in recent weeks.”
It’s noteworthy that Trump‘s personal account is the one that got suspended and not the official POTUS Twitter account. As a result of the incident and his tweets, he was also banned from other social media platforms.
Now that there’s a change in management, Elon Musk is considering Trump’s account reinstatement by asking Twitter users what they think about it. At the time of writing this piece, 55.7% are in support of his return.
44.3% don’t want Trump’s account reinstated. Fingers crossed for the final result!
