Elon Musk won’t compromise his moral compass despite past entanglement with disgraced rapper Sean Diddy Combs who remains held without bail in prison. Since his arrest on sex trafficking and racketeering charges among others, several celebrities have become entangled in Diddy’s scandal via their past associations with him, or their link to the Bad Boy Records CEO’s freak-off parties.
While Elon has been spared so far from the “freak-off” loop, he once disclosed his close bond with the hip hop mogul, even referring to him as a friend. Yet, like other celebs who risk public outrage by their mere association with the rapper, the Tesla billionaire has played it safe even as his “friend” struggles to secure his freedom from the Metropolitan jail on bail.
Diddy Hits Another Roadblock as Judge Denies Him Bail a Third Time
After two prior failed attempts, Diddy made a third plea to secure his release, upholding his proposed bail package. The rapper made his plea at the federal court last week, putting a $50 million bond on the table, along with other bail conditions including a reassurance not to flee or intimidate prospective witnesses. His legal team argued that the proposed bond, with his Miami house as collateral, was enough to ensure he adheres to the terms of his bail, if granted.
The judge reached a decision on Diddy’s third bail attempt on Wednesday, turning down the request again just before Thanksgiving. In his filing, the judge ruled that the rapper posed a “serious risk of witness tampering.” Additionally, he alluded to the existence of a direct evidence of the 55-year-old’s violence, referencing the infamous video of Diddy assaulting then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura at a hotel in 2016.
The judge also cited his text messages with Cassie, and Diddy’s violation of prison communication rules by making calls to people outside his approved contact list. As consequence, the rapper would get to spend his first Thanksgiving behind bars on Thursday, a turn of events many believe “the world would be thankful for.”
Elon Musk Talks Morality After Getting Roped Into Diddy’s Legal Woes
Shortly after Diddy’s bail denial, tech mogul Elon Musk took to X to share a post about truth and morality, backed by a famous quote from the movie, Dune. The pinned post, which has attracted almost a hundred thousand reactions read,
“Respect for truth comes close to being the basis of all morality.”- Dune.”
Many of Elon’s followers deemed it a political statement, given the entrepreneur’s history of promoting truth and free speech as a basis for his Donald Trump presidential campaign. They stormed the post with wild reactions backing Elon’s quote. One such saying read,
“Truth may hurt, but it is necessary and sacred.”
Elon Musk’s social media post comes days after he fueled conspiracy theories about Ellen DeGeneres involvement with Diddy. Taking a jab at the TV personality who reportedly fled the US with her wife following Donald Trump’s win, the billionaire highlighted a social media post where Ellen alluded to witnessing one of Diddy’s freak-offs in a resurfaced 2018 video.
Interestingly, the tables soon turned on Elon, as netizens were quick to dig out evidence of the businessman admitting to Diddy’s investment in Twitter, while calling him “a good friend.” The internet has since given Elon Musk the flak for pointing accusing fingers at others, despite his own guilt, ultimately dragging him neck-deep into the Diddy scandal.
