Last week on social media, discussions among Genshin Impact fans were fueled by an apparent leak of Emilie. In those images, Emilie appeared as a half-dog Fontaine girl dedicated to making perfumes of various fragrances. Now, Genshin Impact shared Emilie’s official drip marketing, and her design stood out the most. Many were surprised by the appearance of this new character, some for the good, others not so good. However, it was a great impression.
Many fans want to avoid cute, loli, and hybrid designs at all costs. So they are enormously grateful to have a girl model but with a spicy appearance. They were also delighted with the details and Emilie’s final outfit. On the other hand, for those who were happy with the leaks, it was because she was a furry loli with a more than adorable design. There are indeed several furry girls, but Emilie would be the first half-dog girl with ears down like a hound. Another main complaint is that the design and colors of the final dress are very similar to the Sumeru characters and more like Lisa’s skin from the Akademiya.
Of course, this is a normal process for creating a new character. Commonly, there are different versions and concept art. In the case of Emilie, supposedly, she appeared for the first time in the massive concept art leak a year ago. Although there are so many leaks, it is unknown whether they are real or will be for another future character. Emilie’s drip marketing could signify that she is closer to arriving at Genshin Impact. But as with all leaks of arrival times and designs, we always have to take it with a certain degree of doubt because everything can end utterly different from what we expected. Still, I wish we’d gotten Emile’s first version because it would’ve felt refreshing in the vast sea we have of characters.
