You may encounter a Karen many times during your life. Their obnoxious behavior is enough to prompt people to film them and share their experiences online. Sometimes, however, accusing a woman of being a Karen might backfire. This happened to some entitled Texas musicians who filmed their neighbor confronting them about the loud music they were playing. Their band was rehearsing in the front yard, using a huge sound system, and not caring about bothering the nearby houses. Their neighbor kindly came up and let them know that the music was giving her a headache. She even mentioned that it was strong enough to shake her glass and cabinets as well.
She is the farthest thing from being a Karen because she said that she isn’t trying to annoy them. Her simple request was to turn down the bass. The woman even said that she would appreciate it; a Karen wouldn’t act this way. The annoying one here is a member of the band who found it weird that she was the only one complaining. Well, their neighbor is definitely more patient than I am. She clarified that there is a sound tunnel leading up to her house, which impacts their house the most. The Texas musicians tried to paint their neighbor as the one in the wrong. They even wrote that they weren’t trying to call her a “Karen.” It certainly looked like that. The band also mentioned that they decided to use the video of this confrontation as a promo. Yeah, this definitely backfired.
People Reacting to the Entitled Texas Band
Unfortunately for the Texas band, people didn’t react as they wanted. Instead of thinking that their neighbor was being unreasonable or a Karen, everyone sided with her. In fact, some people started explaining how they would have reacted if they were in the women’s shoes. “Meanwhile I would’ve lit your speakers on fire,” wrote one person. Someone else said, “She’s being way f**king nicer than I would have been.” Others basically called the band losers who need to grow up. “She’s exactly f**king right. If you can’t afford to rent out a studio/space to play your music, then you need to make more uber eats deliveries until you make enough money to do so,” someone wrote. I mean they have got a point.
A lot of people were annoyed by the Texas guys, and that was enough to share the video on Reddit as well. The dragging continued there as well. When one person asked why the band didn’t do the sound check at a venue, another person replied and said, “You’re assuming these guys have ever booked a venue.” Believe it or not, they do play at some spots. Probably won’t play anywhere if the video gets even more popular. One Redditor also believed that the woman was more polite than necessary. “She’s being unreasonably polite,” they wrote. Well, her politeness was enough to let people know that she isn’t a Karen. One more insult was directed at the obnoxious band as someone also wrote, “F**k these guys. Sound check with a literal wall of speakers in a neighborhood? Go f**k yourself dude.” At least, they will now think twice before filming someone.
