Terrifier 3 is on its way, and audiences should buckle up if Art the Clown himself can’t handle the terror. The third installment in the Terrifier saga is currently in production ahead of an October release, and director Damien Leone recently shared a juicy peek behind the scenes of the new movie, sharing that he’d just finished filming one of the horrifying scenes in the franchise so far – so bad that someone on set nearly lost their lunch. We’ve got to admit, for a series literally called Terrifier, that’s impressive, and it only got better when David Howard Thornton backed him up.

‘Terrifier 3’ Director Says Art the Clown Nearly Threw Up on Set

Can honestly say we just filmed one of the most insanely horrific scenes of the Terrifier franchise and you’ll never believe who couldn’t handle it on set 😬😂 🤮 the bts is hilarious. Can’t wait for you all to see! #terrifier3 #areyouready #comingsoon

Art the Clown made his debut in The 9th Circle, a 2008 short film directed by Damien Leone, where he was played by Mike Gianelli. Gianelli would go on to reprise his role as Art for the character’s feature film debut in All Hollows’ Eve (2013) and the first Terrifier movie in 2016. Staring with Terrifier 2 (2022), Art the Clown was played by David Howard Thornton, a man who’s seen his fair share of horror movies. It really makes you wonder, then, what kind of horrifying scene Damien Leone is putting in Terrifier 3 that not even Thornton – Art the Clown himself – could handle the fear.

In a tweet from earlier today, Damien Leone – the longtime director of the Terrifier franchise – announced that he had just finished filming what he called one of the “most insanely horrific” scenes in the franchise so far. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he also admitted that the scene was so bad that someone on set almost couldn’t handle it, and Thornton later confirmed that it had been him nearly vomiting on set via a Facebook comment.

“I will just say that this is the kill that almost made me vom. That’s a first.”

This all raises the question – what’s so bad in Terrifier 3 that even Art the Clown couldn’t handle it? Director Damien Leone sure isn’t telling, though he says he can’t wait for audiences to see it. Terrifier 3 will be hitting theaters on October 25th, 2024, so horror fans, you might want to buckle up.
