The wait was long, but BlizzCon 2026 finally arrived, bringing all the beloved Blizzard games we’ve grown up with. However, this year’s show was one of the biggest due to the sheer number of announcements and several surprises that many of us weren’t expecting. So, in case you somehow missed the show, we have a list of all major announcements of BlizzCon 2026.
Heroes of the Storm Gets a Brand-New Hero
Many of us thought the Nexus had already told its final tales, but it seems that won’t be the case anymore. Xal’atath is joining the fray on September 24, with players being able to take her out for a hovering ride on September 14 through the game’s PTR. There were also a few teasers of more surprises to come, but we don’t know what that entails yet.
STARCRAFT Returns in 2030
With a gorgeous cinematic à la Blizzard, we got the official announcement of STARCRAFT and its release window, which is 2030. While that’s still far off, the surprise made many players scream with excitement, since the series has been on hiatus for a while. So far, we only know it will be an open-world shooter, which is moving away from the franchise’s formula, but we’re all pretty curious to see how Blizzard will revive the series.
A New Support Hero is Landing on Overwatch
With yet another beautifully-animated trailer, Overwatch unveiled its new support hero: Doctrine. His kit revolves around using vampire-like abilities to drain health and heal others, which will be quite interesting to see once he launches alongside Season 5 in October. Furthermore, the the first year-long narrative of Overwatch is coming to an end, so those lore afionados will want to tune in for the finale.
Diablo 5 Is Coming in Spring 2029
The truth is that out of all announcements during this BlizzCon 2026, we were not expecting Diablo 5 to get a teaser, especially with Lord of Hatred having released earlier this year. Still, this is extremely exciting, especially with the game’s setting. It seems the forces of evil have finally won and Sanctuary is in shambles.
And speaking of a Sanctuary in shambles, the Season of Hell’s Legacy is coming on September 15, bringing back the Prime Evils. Also, the Amazon is finally coming to the game as the first class pack, set to arrive in the first half of 2027.
The Monk, a New Journal, and a New Expansion Enter Hearthstone
Hearthstone also had some big reveals during BlizzCon 2026, with the first one being a new expansion: Reign of the Black Empire. This expansion will add the new Assemble keyword, letting you fuse two cards into one for new effects. On top of that, Battlegrounds will add a new minion type in October: the Aberration. Last but not least, the Monk is set to debut in Hearthstone sometime during March 2027.
Warcraft 3 Reforged Gets a New Forsaken Campaign
There were many WoW announcements during BlizzCon 2026, so we’ll split them into their own sections. To kick off, we have a brand-new campaign for Warcraft 3 Reforged called Forsaken Kingdom. This new campaign focuses on the fall of Lordaeron and how it became the Undercity, the famous Forsaken hub we all know from the MMO. The difference between this and all previous announcements is that the new expansion is available right now.
World of Warcraft: Midnight Teases Its Eclipse Update
For retail WoW we got to see the cinematic trailer of Eclipse, the next major patch coming to Midnight next year. By the looks of this teaser, Xal’atath is at the Worldsouls’ door, meaning we might have to face her in the next raid and see how it all sets up The Last Titan expansion. However, there are even more additions coming to Midnight, such as a new PvE mode called Talebound with exclusive classes, and a new Legendary weapon coming to Eclipse, Forsaken, Night Elf, and Troll races allowed to become Paladins, housing updates, and many more additions.
World of Warcraft: Forever Brings Azeroth Back Into the Spotlight
Undoubtedly, the biggest announcement of BlizzCon 2026 was World of Warcraft: Forever. Before you all think this is just Classic Plus, it is much more than that. This new version of WoW seems to kick off at the beginning of the MMO’s beginnings, but will likely pursue a new timeline and add content we never saw before during the vanilla days. There are new zones, new race-and-class combos, the Skyborne elves as a playable race, a permanent level 60 cap, horizontal progression, new dungeons and raids, and many more things. The best part of the announcement is that WoW: Forever launches on November 5, with the beta starting on September 17.
As you can see, BlizzCon 2026 was packed with announcements for every single game in Blizzard’s catalog. And while some of these reveals are still quite far away, the rest are right around the corner, so whether you want to do some first-person shooting, some good old MOBA-like matches, or reliving one of gaming’s most iconic worlds, now’s the perfect time to jump back into every Blizzard game.
