The Nintendo Switch is in full-swing, and with the overwhelming popularity of Legends of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo’s latest console is shaping up for a promising lifespan.
Despite there being a lack of games at launch, the Switch has quite a lineup of titles that we can look forward to, including ones for both hardcore gamers and those who are more relaxed. Many of those titles, however, can be found across consoles, so what can we expect of the Switch exclusives? Seasons of Heaven could be the answer we’re looking for.
Information about Seasons of Heaven has been floating around since December 2016. It’s a new game from French indie studio AnyArts Production and is based on the Nico Augusto novel of the same name. Just based on the gameplay trailer, this post-apocalyptic world looks both fantastical and visually stunning, though the animation could use some tightening up.
Well-known Nintendo reporter, Laura Kate Dale, explained via Twitter “To those asking the Seasons of Heaven trailer, it’s PC footage. Devs are in line for a Switch dev kit they do not have one atm.”
That was back in December and still not much as changed. Despite this, the story of Seasons of Heaven is still reason to keep this game on your radar.
The game follows Yann, a young boy with Asperger’s syndrome, along with his French bulldog, Ani, as they navigate a land devastated by the collapse of society. Both Yann and Ani are playable characters in the game.
Seasons of Heaven is currently being made with Unreal Engine 4, so we’re excited to see what the final product will look like on the Nintendo Switch. Even with the trailer, not much is known about the “goal” of the game, aside from Yann and Ani’s deep exploration of the world. Hopefully, more details become clear soon.
