Need For Speed: Unbound Vol. 7 update is here, and we’ve got our hands on two refreshing game modes from the Underground! We’re speaking Drag races and Drift events tailored for high-skill competitions in Need For Speed: Unbound. An Underground League is going on in Lakeshore City, adding single-player Blacklist-style elements with new cars and a Speed List to discover.
Need For Speed: Unbound Vol. 7 New Game Modes
Drag Racing: You can access the Drag Racing events in Need For Speed: Unbound Underground update by reaching any meet-up locations in Multiplayer free roam. This mode is also available via the PvP playlists, which is easier to access without leaving the menu.
Unbound Drag Racing is surely inspired by Need For Speed: Underground games in terms of gameplay. Most notably, the lane-switch mechanism has returned, bringing back the nostalgic feeling of Underground games and Most Wanted 2005 drag events.
Drift Racing: Similar to Drag events, Drift races are also available in free roam meetings and PvP playlists in Need For Speed: Unbound Underground update. However, you’d need to have Drift Pro tires equipped for your car in order to play in any of the drift racing events.
Drifting in Need For Speed: Unbound has received an overhaul in terms of gameplay. Now when you have the Drift Pro tires on, your car slides way more smoothly. This is nearly the same type of gameplay we had in the PS2 era of Need For Speed games’ drift events.
What Is The Underground League in Need For Speed: Unbound?
Reaching the first meet-up location in Free Roam mode of Need For Speed: Unbound Vol. 7, you’ll find a new Underground League. This is a challenge-based event with Underground racers forming some sort of Blacklist from Most Wanted 2005. You start from the bottom of the list, and once you do all the challenges, you’re clear to race against the Underground League member.
Now this is a single-player progression integrated into Need For Speed: Unbound Multiplayer mode with the Underground update. And it’s kind of refreshing to give players more reasons to play the game and grind against real players to complete the challenges, and then race AI racers to achieve their rewards. Beat the Underground League racers, and you’ll get the pink slip for their cars!
Vol. 7 Speed Pass and New Cars
Just like every other volume of Need For Speed: Unbound, the Underground update does bring in a new Speed List with new free and premium cars. There are more than 20 new events added to the game, with a fresh free and premium Speed Pass to grind through.
