Superman is in everything from animated shows to live-action television, movies, and video games. Today is the release of My Adventures with Superman, an animated series that we have everything you need to know about it. If you are still on the fence, these details will help you decide whether you should hop on board or skip it for something else. The superhero genre is plentiful right now, with numerous options at our disposal.
Everything You Need to Know About My Adventures With Superman
The Story of My Adventures With Superman
Similarly to James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, this features a young Clark Kent/Man of Steel. He balances his life as a world-saving superhero who is nearly unkillable, his relationship with Lois Lane, and a career as an investigative journalist. It is labeled as a “serialized coming-of-age story” that hops around to different exciting and fun times with the iconic DC hero.
Who Stars in the Animated Series?
The most notable actor is the lead. Playing as our Man of Steel is Jack Quaid, best known for roles in The Boys and soon to be in Oppenheimer.
We will see plenty of people on Clark Kent/Superman’s side. Alice Lee voiced Lois Lane, known for her work in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. Superman’s friend Lana Lang is played by Jeannie Tirado, who has starred in hundreds of animated series and video games, like Nier: Automata, Soul, and Doom Eternal. Kari Wahlgren played Martha Kent, who has also voiced hundreds of characters from Diablo 4 to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and more. Ishmel Sahid stars as Daily Planet and friend Jimmy Olsen. Sahid is an up-and-coming actor known for Jury Duty. Azuri Hardy-Jones voiced Flip, who in the comics is known as Newsboy Legion member Walter Johnson. Hardy-Jones has previously done Deer Squad and Dhar Mann. Fear Street star Kiana Madeira will play Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.
While this should be lighthearted fun, you cannot have a superhero show without some villains. Lost star Michael Emerson will play Brainiac.
The characters in My Adventures with Superman stick to their comic book roots. Experienced voice actor Michael Yurchak (Heroes of Extinction, World of Warcraft) will play Winslow Schott. The character in the comics is a villain, but in the show, he is a friend of Supergirl.
Who Made My Adventures With Superman?
The series is developed by Megan Dong (Centaurworld) and Jake Wyatt (Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus). Wyatt executive produces with Sam Register and Brendan Clogher.
Does this Connect to the DCU?
As James Gunn clears the slate of DC movies for his universe, we wondered if projects like Superman: Legacy would connect to the DCU. This show will be in the Elseworlds brand, which is the home of other non-canon DC movies and shows, like The Batman 2 and The Penguin series.
