Not returning to Mythic Quest season 3 raised eyebrows about F Murray Abraham’s fate on the series, but it turns out from a report from Rolling Stones that he was fired for sexual misconduct. It came down after two reported incidents on set, and he was told to stay away from the actress. When he was said to not keep his distance, series creator Rob McElhenney had him axed from the Apple TV+ series.
At the time before the sexual misconduct was known, Lionsgate said that it would “not comment on matters concerning personnel” when it came to the exit of F Murray Abraham.
The surprise exit of F Murray Abraham before it was reported to be from sexual misconduct left a hole in the series. He played C.W. Longbottom, a writer at the fictional video game studio that the series follows. The fan-favorite character was announced not to be replaced, and instead, McElhenney told IGN there would be a “tribute to him.”
Mythic Quest had fired F Murray Abraham over sexual misconduct allegations
It is currently too soon to see if this report will affect the actor’s other work. Recently, he starred in The White Lotus season 2 and Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. For upcoming projects, he filmed his role for Double Soul, a thriller about identical twins.
While these issues had risen on the set of the workplace comedy, Mythic Quest is not stopping anytime soon. Months after its second season, Apple TV+ renewed it through season 4. The third season had just concluded earlier this year at the beginning of January. No details are known when we can expect season 4. Season 2 ended on June 25, 2021, and Season 3 debuted on November 11, 2022. So, the time frame might give fans an idea about when they get to see the dysfunctional video developer back in business.
