MegaCon Orlando has come and gone, and in its wake, Marvel has teased some of the issues leading to the Fall of X event. This new era of X-Men kicks off in August and promises a culmination of all the stories and events taking place on Krakoa. Expect stunning betrayals, shocking betrayals, and horrifying tragedy. Now, you can check out some of the issues releasing right on the precipice of the Fall of X.
The Calm Before the Storm
Several X-Men titles hit newsstands in July. These will be the last chapters of Krakoa before it is potentially changed forever. Up first is X-Men #24 from Gerry Duggan and Joshua Cassara. A synopsis for the issue teases a deadly mercenary crashing into the X-Men during the team’s most vulnerable moment. And not just any mercenary, but Pogg Ur-Pogg from X of Swords.
Next is Immortal X-Men #13 from Kieron Gillen and Lucas Werneck. This issue puts the spotlight on Doug Ramsey, the mutant who is the voice of Krakoa. Now, readers will get the chance to hear from Krakoa, and what they have to say may save lives.
X-men Red #13 comes from Al Ewing and Jacopo Camagni. With the Annihilation Staff, Genesis is back on the island she once ruled. However, can she be trusted, or should she be feared? Time is running out for the Great Ring to decide.
Benjamin Percy and Juan Jose Ryp are back with Wolverine #35. This issue brings the “Weapons of X” storyline to a close. A final showdown between Wolverine and Beast is here, and only one will be left standing.
Then, in X-Force #42, Benjamin Percy and Paul Davidson puts the spotlight on Hank McCoy. The former X-Men’s long game has finally paid off, and Nimrod’s plan is successful. So, what does this mean for the future of mutant kind? Can X-Force still put an end to all of this?
Finally, X-Men: Before the Fall – Sinister Four #1 brings readers the first of four important one-shots. It reveals what Nathaniel Essex’ clones have been up to. How will they tie into the Fall of X?
