The hype train for Fallout 4 just keeps on rolling. Departing in style a bit from the informational “SPECIAL” videos that they have been releasing, Bethesda has just decided to give people a taste of what the Fallout 4 universe is all about. The live action trailer conveys what types of sights gamers can expect to experience as they wander through the wilderness, set to the tune of Dion’s classic tune “The Wanderer.”

It certainly hits all the things we expect from Fallout 4: idyllic alternate-reality 1950s beginning, nuclear explosion, irreverent sense of humor, dog companion, super mutants, and power armor. I somewhat balk at the use of the phrase “live action,” as so much of the video is CGI, but the video definitely serves a purpose and serves it well: keep the hype going for one of the year’s most anticipated games. This is a year that has been packed with impressive releases, and Bethesda definitely wants Fallout 4 in the conversation for “Best of 2015.”
Bethesda has a pretty strong track record, with a string of big-time hits, specifically in the first-person action RPG genre. They are best known right now for the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games, but they have other AAA titles peppered throughout the last several years that have generally done well, including The Evil Within and Wolfenstein: The New Order. Fallout 4 is their first return to the Fallout universe in five years, as they released Fallout: New Vegas in 2010.
Fallout 4 releases in less than a month, on November 10th. It can be picked up on Playstation 4, XBox One, and PC. Players will be able to explore the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Boston.
