At the Olivier Awards, Paul Mescal and Jodie Comer took home some trophies, beating some outstanding acts in their categories. The 30-year-old actress bagged the best actress for starring as Tessa in “Prima Facie.” This is a monologue-themed production by Suzie Miller which debuted at the Harold Miller Theater. Miller also won the best new play award.
While accepting the honors, Comer agreed that Miller did an awesome job whipping the play together. She shared a motivational speech urging people never to give up.
She crowned her speech by giving a shout-out to her parents and grandad whose birthday coincided with the event. At the after-party, Comer said she had been bitten by the theater bug and was ready to serve stage plays.
Mescal also joined the winning team for the night. the 27-year-old who appeared as Stanley Kowalski in “A Streetcar Named Desire” won the best actor category. His fellow nominees included Tom Holland in “Patriots,” Giles Terera in “Blues For An Alabama Sky” and Rafe Spall in “To Kill A Mockingbird.”
Following the award presentation, Mescal gave an expected thank you speech. He went on to reference his mother who is battling cancer at the moment. The “A Streetcar Named Desire” star added graciously:
“I hope you get better.”
The event held at the Royal Albert Hall, on Sunday, has a list of impressive acts take home accolades. Beverley Knight was also the for best actress in a supporting role in “Sylvia at The Old Vic.” Arthur Darvill was crowned best actor in a musical — “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!”
Amid the string of events, the highlight for some fans was seeing Jodie Comer and Paul Mescal at Olivier Awards. After accepting their awards, the pair latched onto each other while posing for the cameras.

For the evening, Comer was the lady in the red dress. The blonde beauty looked breathtakingly gorgeous in an off-shoulder piece. The dress featured a mini-length in front, but a tailing cape behind. She stunned in her glamorous makeup while her hair was packed loosely, but away to make her face visible.
On the other hand, Mescal brought on his gentlemanliness in a two-piece suit. He teamed it with a white dress shirt and an untraditional tie.
The pair looked very friendly chatting and later posing on the red carpet. They felt comfortable enough to wrap an arm around each other.

Fans could not help but notice the synergy these two entertainers and friends were having at the event. After photos of them hit the media, many branded them as a perfect duo.
