Wendy Williams is not one to be played with, whether on a live show or on the streets of Miami. The American former broadcaster has battled with health challenges for the past few months, one of which is dementia. The 60-year-old stepped out in style to celebrate her son’s graduation but left fans in a daze instead. The “We In Miami” podcast team captured the media personality biting the heads off her care team. She said they left her mobility scooter in the middle of the street, which did not sit well with her.
The group traveled from New York City to Miami to attend Wendy’s son’s graduation and post-graduation dinner. It’s unclear what happened during the dinner, but the podcast team saw Wendy raking off on her caretakers. When asked what happened, they could tell the situation visibly disturbed her. Wendy explained to the podcasters that her team brought the wrong car. This came after the restaurant told her to walk out, and she discovered that her scooter wasn’t with her.
“And then both of you walked away, leaving my sh*t in the middle of the street like this. Just get the car, please, and make sure it’s the right car,” she hurled at them. “They got the wrong car, so I knocked on the door, and it was the totally wrong car. They left my scooter as they walked over there, leaving my most precious, my most. This cost a f*cking mint mf.”
As Wendy explained the situation in the video shared by TMZ, some people laughed in the background. This preceded the talk show host’s angry drive off in her mobility scooter. Wendy’s mood and lack of deliriousness astonished X users as she explained the situation. Some wondered how she could speak so clearly; others said she seemed to be back to her old self. One fan wrote, “She looks well to me,” referencing the rumors swirling that she is ‘very sick.’
Some X users argued that Wendy speaks like she usually does, which has nothing to do with dementia. “I know dementia, and this ain’t it,” one wrote. Another said, “I thought they said she was laid up in the bed, unable to talk.” A third user commented, “I’m glad to see her out and about being herself and not in an ‘incapacitated’ state as reported.” In November 2024, People reported that the former TV host had become ‘permanently disabled and legally incapacitated.’
Does Wendy Williams Really Have Dementia?
The news outlet revealed that they obtained a document detailing Wendy’s health status, with shocking updates. In the papers, Wendy’s court-appointed guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey, said the TV host is ‘cognitively impaired.’ Furthermore, she noted that Wendy has become ‘permanently disabled and legally incapacitated.’ The health update came as a shock to fans worldwide, who sent in their prayers and love. But now, that update does not seem to tell the whole story.
Nevertheless, fans are excited for Wendy as she is still out and about, even with her dementia diagnosis. The media personality came out to rejoice with her son, Kevin Jr., who recently received his Diploma.
