A Diwali celebration in Seattle, Washington, was disrupted by an anti-Hindu protest when far-right activist Jake Lang showed up with supporters holding racist signs. The group interrupted the event with slogans aimed at Hindus and Indian Americans until attendees and event staff removed them.
The video was shared by Lang himself on his original X account. It shows him and fellow activist Thomas Allen standing near a stage where a dance performance is taking place, waving American flags and displaying signs reading “Deport All Dot Heads” and “Stop Hindu Replacement of Christians.”
The slogans were hard to miss, especially at an event where families had gathered to celebrate Diwali. The activists were subsequently removed from the Seattle Center Armory, where the Diwali celebration was taking place, as part of Seattle Center Festal.
Later on X, Lang posted that he and his group had been assaulted by “ANTIFA & HINDUS.” He further vilified the community for the Democratic vote in Texas during the 2026 midterm elections, finishing the post with an abusive comment.
Lang was also part of the mob that stormed the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. He was incarcerated for four years before President Donald Trump granted him a pardon on his first day in office of his second presidency, in January 2025.
Internet Reacts to Jake Lang Disrupting Washington Diwali Celebration
Viewers were quick to push back against Lang’s version of events. One person wrote, “That’s not “antifa,” lmao. And you were not “assaulted” and it is pathetic to claim that like a little *expletive*.” Another commenter called out the contradiction between the protest and the activist’s claim to patriotism: “You stormed a peaceful Diwali celebration with racist signs and now play the victim? That’s not patriotism. That’s bigotry. A presidential pardon may have freed you from prison, but it clearly hasn’t freed you from hatred.”
Some viewers questioned why a religious celebration had become a target for political provocation. “I don’t see why people can’t just enjoy their holiday without being dragged into political arguments. There’s a time and place for protesting, and this doesn’t seem like either one,” one comment read.
Another person argued that Lang and his group were the ones causing harm, writing, “You assaulted them with your racist *expletive*. You got EXACTLY what you deserve for being an *expletive*.” Others pointed out that his claims about election results were no less inflammatory. “Not only are you just dead wrong about demographics you’re harassing ppl lmfao. Being confident and wrong is a bad combo,” one viewer said.
One commenter had a blunt response to Lang’s account of the incident: “YOU were the one assaulting. Once a criminal, always a criminal. You belong in JAIL.”
This isn’t Lang’s first foray into a controversial political protest. The far-right activist, who is associated with the group White Replacement, has held provocative demonstrations at various sites across the US. He usually targets immigrant and religious communities with anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim rhetoric.
