Loads of TV news are coming out of the virtual summer press tour for the Television Critics Association. In this, we have learned from people reacting on Twitter that Fargo season 5 is happening as production will begin this fall.
Based on the class film of the same name. The anthology series takes people through crime, scandals, and moronic behavior from the citizens of Fargo. Previous seasons have had some connections, like with the first two, but then others have been distinctly different in time and themes. Major stars have made appearances like Billy Bob Thornton, Colin Hanks, Jesse Plemons, Kirsten Dunst, Chris Rock, Patrick Wilson, Ewan McGregor, Jesse Buckley, and more.
Fargo season 5 will be the first to take place in the close present as it will be set in 2019. The story will follow a kidnapping, but not much more is known. It will star Juno Temple, Jon Hamm, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Respectively, they will play Dot, Roy, and Lorraine.

The series creator Noah Hawley who wrote, directed, and executive produced the original four seasons, will return to do all the same for Fargo season 5. Warren Littlefield, Joel and Ethan Coen, Steve Stark, Kim Todd, and Vincent Landay will executive produce too.
In the thread of news, we learned that Hawley’s Hulu Alien series is also coming together. All of the scripts were turned in, and production will begin next year. Not much is known, but it will be the first major production for the IP since Disney acquired its rights through the Fox merger. It was only until recently we started seeing that deal come to fruition as we will have Prey, the Predator prequel, released on the streaming platform this Friday (August 5).
Fargo seasons 1 through 4 are available to watch on Hulu.
