In a teaser trailer today, Motion Twin announced that they will be dropping the first-ever Dead Cells animated series in 2024. This is another exciting development following the launch of Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania earlier this year. With this expansion, Motion Twin ended up recording one of its highest sales this year. Also facilitating its growth is the release of Dead Cells Clean Cut updates that have been giving players lots of goodies. With the success of the game, it was imminent for the franchise to follow suit and release an animated series. It looks spooky by all accounts in its latest trailer.
Details of the Animated Dead Cells Series
Dead Cells follows a quickly growing trend of releasing animated film versions of video games. And following its recent trailer, the game’s animated series will be another captivating entry. The upcoming series merges French producer Bobby Pills and Animation Digital Network (ADN) as their co-produce to bring this series.
In its tweet, Motion Twin describes the incoming animated series as a humorous, action-packed adventure of madness. The series will venture into a cursed island surrounded by a strange plague. In an attempt to heal the plague, the island’s foolish king ends up poisoning the citizens who turn become monsters.
The fate of the population lies in the hero with a flame head. However, the hero is not up for the task and wants to be left alone. From this narrative, Dead Cells animation will bring a series containing 10 episodes. In each episode, viewers will enjoy seven minutes of footage of this narrative and action.
Upon its release next year, as shown in its trailer, ADN will stream the show exclusively in France for an undefined time frame. After which, the franchises will release the animation to other areas outside France. Also, the team added that they are still working on its official title and will share it once ready.
