Alot of people have played CD Projekt Reds masterpiece The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, latest figures show that the game has sold over 6 million copies in its 4 months release since May 19th.
After being spoiled by the developer ever since the game came out, totaling 16 pieces of free DLC ranging from new hair styles for Geralt, horse armor, alternate costumes for Yennifer and Triss, extra missions to help save miners, unique school of the bear armor and the newly released New Game plus mode adding another 100 plus hours of play to the wonderful world, if you decide to tackle the story again with a scaled up class of enemy starting at level 30 and progressing on to your hearts content.
Well we have some more good news, during The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt panel broadcast from PAX Prime in Seattle, CD Projekt RED’s Travis Currit revealed some details about the first piece of paid DLC called ‘Heart of Stone’. The expansion ” Is almost ready and shaping up nicely for a October release, and will include 10 hours of gameplay”
When asked if CD Project Red would ever release a stand alone version of in game collectable card game Gwent, Travis Currit mentioned that he would pass the request to the development team, later teasing that there is ‘Good news’ coming for those who can’t get enough of gwent, I personally have no clue what the hell to do.
I’ve lost every match I’ve ever played, proud moment right there.
The first DLC is called Hearts of Stone, which sees players venturing into an area called “No Man’s Land” and another location called Oxenfurt. Here, players will take on a quest from the “mysterious Man of Glass” I’m sure a quick blast of Igni will solve that issue.
“Caught in a thick tangle of deceit, Geralt will need all his cunning and strength to solve the mystery and emerge unscathed” CD Project Red said about the content.
The second add on is called Blood and Wine, which is expected to provide 20 hours of gameplay, is set in an all-new region called Toussaint. CD Projekt Red has been quiet about this expansion, saying that this DLC will “take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.” Looking at an early 2016 release I can say i’m incredibly hype for all this new content coming to the Witcher.
No individual pricing has been released yet for the expansions but you can purchase both at the sweet price of £20 on the PS store, which I’m happy to say I purchased on release day!
What do you think about all these additional add-ons?
Do you need a reason to go back to The Witcher 3 or could you just happily live in that world forever leaving Geralt up as far as possible, I wonder what the max level someones hit with him so far is?
If anyone finds those details out feel free to post them in the comments below.
