The Last of Us Part 1 PC was one of the most anticipated releases for early 2023. But somehow, Naughty Dog managed to mess things up by outsourcing the port to the same developers that worked on the abysmal Arkham Knight port. To say the game is buggy is an understatement. But you could get a quick fix for the Last of Us with this Vulkan Mod.
Last of Us Part 1 Fix – Vulkan Mod
Currently, Naughty Dog is hard at work to make things right with new updates and patches aimed at improving performance, fixing bugs, crashes, and everything under the sun. But modders get things done faster. The Last of Us Vulkan mod can be downloaded from Nexus Mods right here.
This Last of Us Part 1 fix allows users to run the game on the Vulkan API instead of DirectX 12. Installing the mod is pretty simple and straightforward if you’ve been fiddling around with injectors and game files.
After you’re done installing the mod, the game will start rebuilding shaders which might cause a few crashes in the beginning. However, after everything is all said and done, you can run the game at a noticeably better and smoother framerate.
But there’s one caveat to all of this. AMD and Intel GPU owners will have to wait for official support, as this current mod works only on Nvidia GPUs. Another problem, DLSS is disabled from the get-go leaving gamers with AMD FSR as the only resolution upscaling solution.
It’s unfortunate to see such an amazing remake get an equally awful PC port. The Lasts of Us Part 1 is currently available on PC and PS5.
