Lately, Florida has been in the spotlight for a few wrong reasons, but thankfully, this time is a bit different. Unless you’ve been extremely out of the loop, GTA 6 is on the way, and for the unaware, it will take place in Vice City, a fictional representation of Florida, mainly Miami. With the game’s new trailer out, people are debating whether it does a good job representing the city or if real-life Miami is much more chaotic than the video game.

GTA 6 is gonna be insane if youre a local.

So far, reactions to the new trailer have been mixed, with most leaning toward a more positive view. The latest almost half-hour clip that premiered on Netflix showed a big chunk of the game, but most importantly, Vice City, based on Miami, Florida.

Many Redditors have been sharing posts full of excitement, talking about how fun it will be to play GTA 6, especially if you’re a local. Such as the one we linked above. However, others have wondered whether the game will do justice to the city at all, or if it will just be loosely based on it.

How accurate is Vice City in GTA VI from Miami in real life? Is it as fun and chaotic as it looks in the game?

Other Redditors have questioned whether the game is “as fun and chaotic” as it looks. Some other Florida news sites have also covered some of the reactions, where people have been a bit torn about how GTA 6 is portraying Miami.

Florida Residents Have Mixed Feelings About the New GTA 6 Trailer

On the one hand, many locals have been spreading their excitement online, saying it will be fun to see and do a few familiar things in the game.

“Gonna jump on the equivalent of 95 and ride south doing all the driving I wish I could do IRL.“

Sadly, another group of people isn’t too happy about it, pointing out that certain recent events in Florida are a bit worse than what the trailer showed.

“No bank robberies. We have Medicaid fraud.”

“All the roads will be gridlocked and in endless construction?“

Sadly, morale in Florida still seems a bit low because of everything that’s happened in the state recently. Still, a few are excited to see their cities and culture represented in what may be the biggest game of 2026. People will still need to judge how good or bad the game portrays the city, but the wait won’t be long, as GTA 6 is coming in a couple of months.
