A controversial Florida activist and MAGA supporter, Jake Lang, has come under fire after posting a video of himself in blackface while acting out a skit that mocked Black people using stereotypes about KFC, food stamps, reparations, and the Black Lives Matter movement.
The one-minute video, which Lang shared on X, shows him in heavy dark makeup with a fake beard and a short black wig with blond tips. He also wore oversized glasses, several gold chains, and a racing-style outfit.
The skit begins outside a KFC restaurant with a sign on the window announcing that EBT cards are accepted. Lang, putting on an exaggerated Black accent and holding a bucket of KFC chicken, points to the sign in the window and jokes that Black people had waited many years for the restaurant to accept food stamps. “My people been waiting for KFC to be EBT. For 400 years, we’ve been waiting. Thank you, Barack Hussein Obama,” he said.
He then acts out a scene with two white actors standing beside him. Lang tells them to kiss his shoe if they support Black Lives Matter, warning that if they refuse, they will be put in chains and there will be “war in these streets.” After one of the actors appears to kiss his shoe, Lang says, “Thank you for kissing my shoe. Now I don’t have to kill you and your whole bloodline.”
He later walks into the KFC restaurant and loudly demands the staff give him fresh chicken and hot sauce. As he runs out, he repeatedly shouts about reparations and Black power.
Netizens React to Lang’s Blackface Skit
Lang’s skit has drawn him a ton of backlash from people online. In the comments under his post, one X user wrote, “You are a legitimate waste of oxygen.” Another said, “Your screams for attention by trying to incite hatred and attention through vitriol are pathetic.” Someone else remarked, “At this point… whatever happens to you, you earned.” A fourth added, “This is called provocation so if you get beat up it won’t be an assault it would be self defense for them.”
Several people who identified themselves as conservatives also distanced themselves from Lang. One person commented, “Professional agitator with a mission to undermine the Conservative movement and our President. Disgusting.” Another chimed in, “You are an embarrassment. You don’t represent MAGA. Not sure what cause you’re helping.” A third claimed, “You are a Democrat. Only Democrats were racist. Stop hiding behind our party.”
Some netizens, however, appeared to support Lang’s blackface skit. “I love it!!! Keep doing your thing!” one comment read. Another wrote, “This is epic. Well done!” Someone else argued, “If they can do white face we can do this. Equality right?”
In the caption accompanying the video, Lang announced that he plans to appear again in “100% Blackface” at Minneapolis City Hall in late August.
The activist is well known as one of the January 6 Capitol riot defendants who was later pardoned by President Donald Trump after spending years in federal custody. Since his release, he has continued to attract attention online by posting provocative videos and political stunts, with his latest blackface skit becoming the latest flashpoint to divide viewers.
