A FedEx driver in California was accused of running over a family’s dog while delivering a package and then leaving the scene.
The dog’s owner shared a video that gained more than 19 million views. It showed the FedEx driver inside company’s vehicle and driving away, while the dog’s body remained in front of the family’s home after the alleged incident. The owner censored the footage of the dog due to the disturbing nature of the scene.
Text over the video read, “POV: FedEx runs your dog over and just takes off.” After the driver left, the owner came out of the house and discovered her dog had died. She began crying and repeatedly calling what appeared to be the dog’s name. Her two other dogs circled the body and sniffed it. The video ended with the owner walking away, covering her face and continuing to cry. She then loudly said “no,” appearing unable to believe what had happened.
In the caption, the owner tagged FedEx and urged the company to “do better.” She also provided more details in the comments. When someone asked whether the driver might not have realized they had run over the dog, she insisted that they knew and had left the scene. “Zero. Bc they left. And told someone immediately. Who then had to get my packages from them. To bring to me,” she wrote.
In another comment, the owner said she had also filed charges. She added, “I’ve filled everything I can think of. The person who did this didn’t stop to tell me. Or say they were sorry. Just ended her and left. WITH MY PACKAGES. A different driver came back later with them.”
The woman also shared an emotional video calling out FedEx over the incident. “FedEx, count your [expletive] days,” she said. She went on to express her anger, explaining that instead of delivering her package, the driver had run over her dog, leaving it dead.
The owner alleged that she contacted FedEx but received no apology or concern for her well-being. “I’m [expletive] not okay,” she said. According to her, the company only asked her to provide an email address so it could send her the paperwork needed to file a claim. She ended the video by describing how the driver had left without stopping, and she was forced to clean her dog’s blood off the driveway herself.
After some viewers criticized her for allowing her dog to be in the driveway, the owner shared another video showing the amount of land she had available for her dogs. She wanted to demonstrate that there was plenty of space for both the dogs and the FedEx driver, yet her dog was still run over. FedEx has not yet released a statement addressing the incident.

Many viewers online were heartbroken by the footage of the California family’s dog and expressed outrage over the driver’s alleged actions. They also urged the owner to seek accountability. “I’m sick to my [expletive] stomach this is DISGUSTING,” one person wrote. Another commented, “I got six words. SUE THE [expletive] OUT OF THEM.”
Others pushed back against the criticism directed at the owner, arguing that the focus should remain on the driver’s alleged actions. “I’m really curious to know if all these comments would feel the same if it was a child outside playing like yall are missing the point this should have never happened and to drive off with no regard for life is crazy.” Another person commented, “Omg. This is horrible. Please tell me this driver has been found and fired.”
The video raised concerns about the responsibility of delivery drivers to remain alert for pets when entering residential properties. It also highlighted the heartbreak of losing a beloved pet in a preventable accident, particularly when the driver allegedly leaves without checking on the animal or informing its owner.
