Florida Man Bribes Cops With $20 After Hitting Car in Motel Parking Lot: ‘Get Yourself a Dozen Doughnuts on Me’

Worth a shot

Fight or flight can sometimes kick in in dire situations, such as when cops start questioning you. One man from Florida, however, somehow kept his cool and knew exactly what language some cops spoke. The only problem is, the Florida man lacked the funds to fluently speak that “language” and ended up bribing the cops with all $20 in his pocket.

The incident happened in Homestead, Florida, back on May 25, specifically at the Nexx motel at 841 N. Krome Ave. The 34-year-old suspect, named Adan Jacinto-Domingo, was driving a blue GMC Arcadia SUV in the hotel’s parking space when he hit another car in the vicinity. The owner of the struck car, an unnamed woman, quickly called the cops to the scene.

Once the cops arrived and ordered Jacinto-Domingo to step out of the vehicle and take out his driver’s license, the suspect allegedly attempted to bribe them– two officers for a $20 bill. Additional details in the police report claim that Jacinto-Domingo had

“Very red bloodshot and glassy eyes, and smelt very strongly of sweat, urine, and alcohol,“ transcript courtesy of Local 10.

Furthermore, the officers spotted a freshly opened bottle of Corona beer on the dashboard of the suspect’s car. When the cops even asked Jacinto-Domingo to put the vehicle in park, the suspect didn’t and merely took out the key, prompting the cops to reach inside to place the vehicle in a safer mode.

The police also ran a field sobriety test on Jacinto-Domingo, but according to them, the suspect just kept laughing and even slapped an officer’s wrist, so they had to take him to the hospital before jail. Jacinto-Domingo has since been charged with battery on a police officer, conspiracy to commit bribery, assault on a police officer, resisting an officer without violence, disorderly conduct, DUI, and not having a valid driver’s license.

Should’ve Bribed the 911 Caller Instead

With how many cases Jacinto-Domingo mounted up in such a short span of time (and a mere several bottles of liquor), we can all agree that his choice of whom to bribe wasn’t exactly the wisest. Granted, the suspect probably didn’t even know what was going on until the cops showed up.

And while there have been plenty of cases in the past when cops did give in to bribery, some authorities in Florida are certainly worth more than a $20 bribe. Some were even worth a lifetime supply of bottled water, meaning you might want to get a feel for their choice of currency first before you shoot your shot. Regardless, Jacinto-Domingo’s drunken shenanigans have drawn some humorous jabs at both himself and the cops.
