Walmart never fails to be a hub of impromptu drama in America, and the latest involves a Florida shopper getting mad over the music they’re playing on their speakers. That’s because the music is supposedly of “Muslim” origins, according to the angry Walmart shopper, and apparently, it’s not very patriotic of Walmart to play such a tune, especially close to the 4th of July or Independence Day in the US.
The incident occurred earlier this week in a Walmart in Jacksonville, Florida. TikTok user 88mr.hate14 posted the clip on his personal social media account, where he can be seen walking around in the particular Walmart complaining that “Walmart is playing [expletive] Muslim music… [expletive] crazy.” The man added that “It may seem petty, but your culture is changed little by little,” implying he apparently fears Muslim culture taking over in his immediate vicinity.
The TikTok user then looked for a manager to escalate his complaint about the music since “It’s [expletive] United States, why are we playing this [expletive]? Call corporate or something about it?” It appears the manager is clueless as to who would be responsible for the “Muslim music” in Walmart during that day, prompting the TikTok user to just leave while ranting.
“That’s ridiculous, it’s about to be 4th of July! And you’re blasting Muslim music. It’s disrespectful to our country,” according to the TikTok user. For some reason, the anti-Muslim music man also brought in discussions about murder and sexual assault, which he assumes were only perpetrated by immigrants, while also complaining about the music in Walmart.
Turns out it wasn’t even “Muslim music”
The TikTok user eventually urged his viewers to complain about everything they don’t like and be “petty” or a Karen against such cultural displays, like what he assumed was “Muslim music” in Walmart. However, social media users were quick to call him out, because some have alleged that it wasn’t even Muslim music, but Indian music, which is predominantly a Hindu nation, not Islamic.
“This maga[expletive] re low IQ, that’s an Indian song you idiot,” explains an X commenter. Another commenter also corrected the man by calling him out, “Indian music is Islamic chanting and proceeds to record some random hijabi. Don’t tell him who owns the Jacksonville Jaguars since 2012.” Still, that apparently did deter certain American “patriots” from sticking to their “ideals.”
One commenter even argued that “Regardless. Still shyte we don’t need to hear,” with similar xenophobic views such as “It’s disgusting and insulting to Americans whatever that [expletive] is. Third world invaders should get the [expletive] out and do that [expletive] in their own country.” Such responses have led to extensive and divisive debates online.
