A Florida man has been arrested for a failed plot to frame his ex-wife in her own shooting. Jonathan Frenk, 62, of Orlando has been taken into custody after police responded to a call about a shooting over the weekend. When authorities arrived at the scene, Frenk reportedly placed his hands in the air and cooperated by coming out of the building. It was then that he claimed he was unharmed but that his wife had been shot in the leg.
When police investigated further they found a pregnant woman sitting in a chair and yelling for assistance. She had been shot in her right thigh and a handgun was near her at the scene, per Law & Crime. As police questioned the injured woman, she initially claimed that she shot herself. However, en route to the hospital, she allegedly changed the story drastically, claiming the Florida man had plotted and failed to frame her for the crime.
“As the Victim was getting transported, the Victim told a fire department medical staff that she had shot herself,” the police report read. “But later on, the Victim stated, ‘My husband shot me!’”

The woman later revealed that she and Jonathan Frenk had gotten into a heated exchange that escalated into a violent fight. Frenk allegedly yelled “I’m going to kill you” before picking up the gun and firing a shot into her leg.
“The Victim did not hear [Frenk] saying anything after he shot her,” the police affidavit continues. “The Victim said she had no idea if [Frenk] intended to shoot her in the thigh. The Victim was scared and in fear of her life. The Victim told [Frenk] that she could tell the police that she shot herself to avoid [Frenk] from shooting her again.”
It appears that Frenk’s former wife was worried that if she didn’t go along with the story her life would be in further danger. However, she eventually had the courage to speak up about the situation.
“This is baffling to me. These men think they own women in their lives,” one reader commented on the situation.
It appears that before police came, Jonathan Frenk may have decided to blame the shooting on his ex-wife in an attempt to frame her and keep himself out of jail. However, that didn’t work out for the Florida man, who is now currently being held at the Orange County Jail without bond.
