The announcement she was referencing came from her representative over the weekend: Grande “will be taking a step back from visibility” after the Eternal Sunshine Tour wraps on September 1. Per the statement, she “looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily,” before taking “a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances,” a decision her camp tied to the “endless, ongoing public scrutiny” she has faced for years.
The tour itself is a marathon: a source close to the singer noted the Eternal Sunshine production is an extremely physical show demanding real athleticism every night, and that she has delivered it successfully at every stop. She will close it out with four weeks of dates before the curtain falls.
Grande has been consistent about the noise for years. “I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies, no matter what,” she told fans back in 2023, a plea she has repeated, in one form or another, ever since.
