Anyone’s wedding day is supposed to be the best day of their lives. You would want everything to go as smoothly as possible. Well, one Florida woman didn’t have the experience she was hoping for. Her wedding day was almost ruined due to bad service from her wedding venue. After posting about everything that went wrong, she decided to file a legal complaint against her wedding venue for how things went down. The legal complaint was her right, and it is a good thing that she didn’t stay still and ignore what happened.
The Florida woman posted a video explaining how she decided to file a legal complaint against her wedding venue. Her wedding, which took place in Mexico City, didn’t turn out as she wanted it to. The Florida woman explains that the wedding venue had a contract with her, and they didn’t fulfill that contract when it came down to a lot of things. She shared how people on the internet told her that she should sue the wedding venue when she posted about everything that happened.
After saying this, she announced that she filed a legal complaint and that it was now over. She then says that she got %20 back from what she paid for her wedding. To her, that was a lot more than what she was expecting. She shares that some of the things that happened were how the wedding venue served the wrong food and also didn’t make the wedding happen in the room she booked.
People Reacting to the Florida Woman’s Video
After posting that video, people had a lot to say about the entire situation in the comments. One woman wrote, “She paid money for a service. Service wasn’t upheld. Why are we confused lol.” She is absolutely right. The service the Florida woman expected didn’t happen, and that makes it okay for her to go after the wedding venue. Another person wasn’t satisfied with the 20% refund. “20% back [crying emoji] wrong food, wrong room is enough for me to want a full refund sorry.” A lawyer also left a comment under the video saying, “I’m a lawyer. Why are people confused? Contracts are LEGAL documents and there are LEGAL duties. Good for you to have fought for your rights.”
People kept defending her in the comments. One person wrote, “A contract is legally binding. They need to deliver on EVERYTHING signed for or full refund.” Even though many people defended the woman, some people criticized her and left hateful comments regarding her decision. One sad person wrote, “Just be lucky some fool married you.” The Florida woman then liked a reply that said, “’Nooo I cant [sic] get a gf so I have to hate on happy people’.” Another person wrote what was obvious, “If this was a thin white woman who had a destination wedding in Mexico I just know y’all would be on her side …the comments are weird.”
Why Did the Florida Woman File a Legal Complaint?
In another video, the Florida woman explained the reasons behind her filing a legal complaint against her wedding venue. She starts by explaining two major reasons behind the steps she took. According to the Florida woman, she paid for an all-inclusive hotel, which included everything, such as the staff, food, and DJ. This also included three rooms, and one of them was the room that she was supposed to get married in. She then explained that one of the main reasons that she picked the hotel was the room they were supposed to get married in. In addition to this, she says that she loved the food that she tasted while planning, and this is why she chose it.
What Went Wrong?
Despite this, neither the room nor the food was provided as agreed upon. The Florida woman says that the hotel mismanaged their date and also booked four additional events to happen on the same day. This comes after they told her that they would black out on the day of her wedding. In addition to this, the couple couldn’t get married in the room the bride had picked, and the wedding took place in another room.
There is also the fact that they didn’t serve the food she picked. What made things worse was how they served the dish she explicitly said no to because she didn’t like it, and it gave her stomach problems. This is why she ended up not eating at her own wedding, which is honestly terrible. Even when she told them that it was the wrong dish, the wedding venue kept serving it.
Even under this video, there were hateful comments, but at the same time, several people defended the Florida woman. One wrote, “Anyone saying you were in the wrong here is insane. The room change alone would be cause enough but the food??? Hell no.” Another person wrote, “I get it completely. That’s not get a bag thing. This is a major event that has contracts that were violated by the venue. I would keep talking about it too.” In all honesty, the Florida woman didn’t do anything wrong. Almost anyone in her place would have done the same.
